Pastor Mark Schulz
Rev. Schulz
Reverend Mark Schulz
Pastor Mark Schulz is a Saginaw native and attended St. Paul Lutheran school. He is a graduate of Michigan Lutheran Seminary (1974), Northwestern College (1978), and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (1983). Before graduating WLS he studied at the University of Bayreuth in Germany.
Pastor Schulz served the first six years of his ministry (1983-1989) at Faith Lutheran Church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. During that time he was also the chaplain at Berkshire County House of Corrections. Pastor Schulz authored the first three WELS Prison Ministry Bible study correspondence courses produced by the Special Ministries Board. He also produced a Christian twelve-step study, and uses it to this day in the Monday night transition support group.
In 1989, Pastor Schulz was called to be Outreach Pastor at Trinity. He performs normal pastoral work, but devotes more time to building bridges to the unchurched and teaching members how to share their faith in Christ.
Pastor Schulz has spent the past several years developing small group ministries at Trinity and assisting with the Teen Ministry. He has produced 11 PowerPoint Bible studies that are carried by Northwestern Publishing House, including an evangelism training course called, “Small Talk to God Talk.” He has also served on the Michigan District Evangelism Board.
His favorite Bible passage is Isaiah 41: 10 and 13
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
